Disclaimer and brief
description of the general method of enquiry
For some beautiful images of finite discrete information spaces produced in the course of the mathematical analysis see either (information space images) or (force field images) . They give a graphic indication of the difference between the classical concept of space as smooth and the quantum and computational concept of space as finite and discrete. In a smooth space that had infinite resolution all of these images would be simple concentric rings of colour but in a finite discrete space we see incredible images arising due to the quantisation effects. There is an unlimited number of these images that can be easily generated by only a few lines of computer code. It is these images that were used in the Mystic Visions Project.
These Discussions have been compiled from assorted notes written over time and have been elaborated upon and polished up to be presented here. Most of these discussions represent a rather left-brained, rationalist, discursive approach to the subject of "what is the nature of reality?"; this is the middle path. For a more right-brained, intuitive approach I would recommend randomly dipping into the Assorted Brief Writings and for an even more left-brained scientific approach I would recommend turning to the Mathematical Analysis.
The discussions here are merely presented as food for thought, they are not meant to be complete or authoritative analyses however the Academic Overview does make some attempt at the precise clarification of the key terms. There is a progression of ideas through the metaphysical discussion so some of the later essays simply do not make sense without comprehending the earlier ones first. They are presented here to give the flavour of the context within which the mathematical analysis is situated. Any attempt to interpret them as precise, pedantic definitions of an academic philosophical perspective will only lead to confusion.
The primary method of enquiry is to initially ignore all high level symbolic discourses that attempt to condition how one approaches a subject, and to delve deeply into the primal, causal structures that underlie and animate the problem space. From here one may work upwards toward the high level phenomena and reconnect with the high level discourses, hopefully, in a more realistic manner. For example, when contemplating contemporary global issues, rather than begin by thinking about 'people', 'nations', 'environments', etc, which are all very high-level concepts that rest upon many unquestioned assumptions. Instead I conceive of the situation as patterns of information in motion, which by perceptual processes give an experience of a 'world', which by evolutionary and cultural process gives rise to complex dynamical systems that we can conceive of as 'people', 'nations', 'environments', etc. In this way we see that these concepts are not as clear-cut as they seem, they are not entities that exist in their own right and that have clear boundaries and behaviours. The underlying patterns of information and the resulting complex dynamical systems engage in intricate interactions. It is these that underlie the existence and behaviour of the higher level entities. By grounding the discourse in a deeper metaphysical foundation we can overcome many of the problems that arise in such discourses.
I have begun to try and describe the scientific aspects of this
work in a discursive format; see:

From Science to Spirituality, which is an older draft a book
that I am writing. It incorporates many of the principle ideas
presented on this website and attempts to structure them into a
single discussion.
Both these documents provide high level
discussions and different perspectives but the information system
analysis is far deeper and more comprehensive.
