Meditation 08
Return to Guided Meditation series.
There are many perspectives from which to view the same thing.
Still the body and quiet the mind,
Going within, become aware of the rhythm of your breathing and the beating of your heart. Listen to the pulse of your life blood flowing rhythmically through your brain.
Imagine that you are in a sports stadium, and that there are many competing teams all trying to win the same prize.
On the field of play there are many different points of view, that of the players, of the teams, the coaches, the judges and so on.
Also in the stadium there are many different points of view, that of the individual spectators, that of team supporters, the commentators, the reporters and so on.
Above the stadium may be a helicopter with a film crew in it so their points of view are also valid.
The stadium itself is maintained by a huge team of cleaners and grounds personnel, who also have a point of view in relation to the event.
So from their own diverse perspectives they each have a point of view upon the same thing, the sporting competition.
One can apply this understanding to all manner of focal points such as Faiths, schools of thought, institutions and organisations within human culture.
Each of these things sees in its own way that which can be perceived from its own perspective.
The outcome of this realisation may be that one can gain an overview of the limiting nature of individual perception, and come to see that all views need to be compared and considered in order for a full understanding to be reached.
